I've just discovered Meals and Moves!! Love it :) I have 2 switches I've made- one run less and lift more. Muscle is good! The other is eating more wheat berries. I love wheat berry chili- it is filling and delish! :p

My switch is a little different. I switched from thinking I'm "disabled" to thinking I'm "enabled differently," So, I'm trying each month to do one thing more that I couldn't before, or to change one thing that will help improve my health. I have several "incurable" genetic conditions, so this takes baby steps, and may take the rest of my life, but at least each month is a little bit better. I did a fairly big step though to start this month - I was eating very little meat, but this month I've switched to being entirely vegetarian! Who knows? Vegan may be just around the bend. Thank you!

My simple switch is to included more protein in my diet as protein keeps me fuller longer and provides me much needed fuel for my active lifestyle

Thats why I love Simply Bars..Because it gives me a quick boost of protein without all the added sugar and fats.

Here's a few I'm trying hard to stick to this week:

1. use milk instead of cream in my hot drinks
2. swap balsamic vinaigrette dressing for nonfat soy or olive oil + vinegar
3. measure things (vs dont measure food amounts)

I have recently started writing down a few things I plan on accomplishing each day, and I also write down a few things I have accomplished AFTER I have donw them. It gives me a great sense of accomplishment and of being productive. It esp helps when I have not had the best day. I can go back, and focus on the positive and it really shifts my perspective to being back on track and positive. It is little things, such as: ate some veggies, walked, got fresh air, stayed positive, didn't eat the entire pizza, took my vitamins etc. The key is to write it as a reflection at the end up the day. Little things add up. Even if they seem insignificant, they go a long way to giving you a healthy mental boost and encourage you to make the next day even better!

I've always been a healthier eater, ontop of that I'm intolerant to wheat. I have been tracking my nutrition to ensure that I am eating properly, since I am attempting to concieve a child, only to find my healthy diet left me protien deficient by nearly 1/2 of the requirements. I was already consuming higher protien foods and to eat even more is crazy! I checked out protiens shakes & bars, ones wihtout harmful ingredients to a fetus and gluten/wheat. There were a few bars out there, only ofeering 4-6g of protien. Hardly worth it's price tag. So my switches are to eat smaller frequent meals and a daily The Simply Bar, the afternoon snack. Since the switches, I rarely have that afternoon energy slump and I have been feeling more engerized throughout the day, in addition to maintaining the daily recommend requirements. Thanks for helping me get on track to a healthier 2011!
